Kissing Games, Book 3 of the Kinloch series did not disappoint! As with all of Evie's books, Kissing Games provides a romantic comedy with serious heat and a whole lot of heart! It initially appears that Charlie and Valentina are very different from one another, but as the story grows we see that they are more alike than we thought. The 'Teenage Years" challenge is the beginning of their love story and the beginning of who they are meant to be. The growth of these characters is emotional and very heartfelt, something that I love about all of Evie's characters. Charlie is so sexy, charming, and laugh out loud funny whereas Valentina is beautiful, guarded, and driven, both however, love fiercely and want to be the best version of themselves. After three years of friendship, and hundreds of h After three years of friendship, and hundreds of hours of phone calls, I finally got to meet margaret_amatt_author in real life. I honestly thought the universe might implode. Margaret lives in the Highlands of Scotland (she's the perfect beta reader for the Kinloch series lol), and I live in deepest darkest Somerset, a nine hour drive away. It was a bit of a one off that she was nearby, and she abandoned her family to spend six hours with me in the Smut Hut. Highlights: Margaret screaming when she met my ten year old daughter because she wasn't expecting a child that much taller than her My Hot Scot calendar Margaret getting to hold Cookout Carnage, which is dedicated to her. (and then I forgot to give it to her...) Talking non stop for six hours Laughing non stop for six hours Being able to see each other's facial expressions and rude hand gestures Lowlights: Having to say goodbye. I am crying as I write this. My heart is so fucking full right now and I'm so grateful to have this amazing woman in my life. I only wish we lived closer to each other. Meeting Margaret just hammers home just how many deep and incredible friendships I have made through this amazing book community. Later this summer I'm flying to Ireland for less than 48 hours to meet @lyndseygallagherauthor for the first time, and I dream about flying further afield to meet @juliajarrettauthor @kelly_kay_books and @sarahlinauthor who are family to me. I know that when I meet them I'm going to scream like a banshee with excitement and then burst into tears. If I think about all the friends I have on Instagram and around the world that I want to meet, the list is bloody endless. You're all so fucking epic and I adore each and every one of you. It's always worrying meeting someone in real life, in case everything you've built up, somehow doesn't work face to face. Meeting Margaret was the opposite of that. The time went by in a blink of an eye and everything was so easy and natural. I'm just so emotional that we might not get to meet up like this again for a very long time. Here's to friendship. To people who truly see, understand and appreciate who we are X #friendship
