What Evie is Reading
I love finding new authors thanks to the passion of readers who recommend their books. This month I was introduced to three authors whose books I just adored. We’ve got a single dad friends-to-lovers romance set in the world of stand-up comedy that had me from the dedication, a wonderfully layered and structured second chance romance between a movie star and a journalist, and a gloriously sexy and funny fish out of water love story between a grumpy mechanic and a romance novelist whose lost her mojo. Read on, my friends, to find out more!
What Evie is reading
This time I’m going leftfield, with three books that are gloriously bonkers in very particular ways. ‘Early Riser’ takes place in an alternate reality, where each perilous winter, most of the earth’s population hibernates, ‘The Rearranged Life of Oona Lockhart’, shows us what happens when, every New Year’s Eve, Oona is transported to a different year of her life, moving backwards and forwards through time, and in ‘Bonk’, we learn about the real and surreal world of sex and science.
More Book Reviews from Evie!
This time we’ve got love, humour, secrets, family drama and the end of the world. Whether your heroine’s dad is a wannabe conservative Senator, or actually Death himself, these books have it covered. I loved them and hope you do too.
What Evie has read recently
This time I’m switching it up! Three fabulous books for your delectation, but away from my traditional path of contemporary romance. All three have romance and humour, but one follows a penniless South African girl with a prodigious brain on her adventures via a nuclear bomb to saving the King of Sweden, one follows a spinster writing about her neighbours in the 1930s, and the other is set in Regency England and features a upper class lady and a gypsy.
Evie’s latest favourite reads
My latest reads to share with you are a fabulously funny and sexy romance with a disabled heroine, a painfully sweet romance with a bucket of laughs about how to really live a life in the face of death, and a steamy hot tale of internet dating and learning to trust again. These were such wonderful books and I can’t wait to share my thoughts about them with you.
What Evie read next
The next top picks from my kindle library are a crazy billionaire romance with a meet cute in a men’s bathroom, a steamy drama set in a Sonoma county winery, and a fake romance novel set in Manchester. The books were either recommended to me by authors, or found by my eternal quest to find writers like me.

Here are the current top picks from my kindle library. A gentle British romance set amongst the upper classes, a steamy gangster love story set in East LA, and a ‘enemies to lovers’ novel set in a publishing company in Australia. All three books were fabulous reads, and all were recommended to me by my editor or other authors. I absolutely loved them and hope you do too
